My father passed away a few years ago, far too young, and I made a commitment to myself to live intentionally.

This was not a commitment that was fleeting, and it was daunting. I found myself at a stage of life expecting my third child, comfortable in my routine and role and in my trajectory up the corporate ladder. To commit I had to acknowledge if the life I was living was fully something I was choosing and actively creating, or if it was happening to me and it was easier to play my part and participate. I also had to decide what living intentionally meant to me.

At 90 years old, if I look back with the clarity and perspective that is gained with age, what will I saw I wished I had done with my life? What will I say mattered to me?

This is where Flourish comes from. It comes from my heart. Flourish is built on the value of providing service. When I say service, I mean deeply enabling, empowering and practically supporting YOU. I have a unique skill set for strategy; I have been told over and over again – and promoted for my strategic ability. I have realized what makes me unique is that I have always married strategy with intuition. With Flourish, I have taken this a step further and I have built a process that blends your inner knowing with strategy and creates clarity, direction, and strategy that fully embraces all aspects of who you are and the hats and roles you play without asking you take any of those hats off and creating space for all of them at the table.

MY LIGHTBULB PHILOSOPHY

Tiffany Boyd Small Business

One of the experiences I have encountered over and over again, as a woman among woman, personally and professionally, is an inherent “lack mentality” and personal value determination based on where someone feels they rank relative to the other women in the room. Somehow the more women or the more value the women seem to have, the less valuable the other women seem to feel. The more light you bring, they more they want to dim your light for fear it retracts from their own.

My philosophy, however, is you can never diminish light by bringing more light – you can only make a dark space brighter. So, my personal invitation to you is to turn your light on and shine. Shine unabashedly.

I am the poster girl for my own programs and services. I spent 3 years looking for validation, seeking certainty and looking for something outside of me to give me permission to take the leap, to put myself out there, to be vulnerable and admit who I want to be in this lifetime. If I am honest, I am still scared. I think fear is always going to creep in, and I have realized I can’t wait to not be scared and for the fear to go away to make my move. If I do that, I am effectively choosing the life I am already living, because the fear isn’t going anywhere and the only way it will is if I prove it wrong – which requires action. It’s never too late to make the most of where you are at now.

RISE AND SHINE (LITERALLY).

My dad told me (and to be clear he was quoting Gretzky) “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take” (also this will be the only hockey reference on this site).

We all know life is too short, and yet most of us are holding ourselves back. Why?! There are a gazillion reasons and many of them are incredibly deep and valid – the point is, we can change the trajectory of our life. This is a choice. The first step, which is often the hardest is knowing where you want to go and who you want to be.

Q. WHAT DO YOU WANT OUT OF LIFE?

We aren’t asked that question very often, and frankly it’s hard for most people to answer fully. We can easily report all the things we are supposed to achieve or want – but are those the things that fulfill your soul? Do they bring you joy and align with who you are and what you came here to do? Now that is a doozy. It’s scary, as soon as you admit what you want, the risk is acknowledging that you don’t have it, or you aren’t living in alignment with who you want to be. That’s why, if you are brave enough to embark on this path, it helps to have support, strategy and a path forward.
